Restaurants, Delis, and Bakeries Insurance

Whether you have a restaurant, deli or bakery, we know you’ve got your hands full.  We understand that having the proper protection with one agency is an integral piece of running a restaurant so you can get back to what you do best.

Restaurants are exposed to risks on a daily basis as a result of the foot traffic, turnover rates of staff, and cooking exposure.  The proper restaurant insurance policy is designed to help protect you and your business from injuries, property damages, or other situations that could result in injury or damage.

But whether you’re a restaurant, deli, or bakery can change some of your risks and you need an agent who knows the difference.

The specifics of your business and the services that you offer will dictate what coverages are more or less important to you!

Coverage Options for Restaurant Insurance

The following coverage options are common for Restaurant Insurance in Florida:

Workers’ Compensation Insurance — Provides coverage for medical care and physical rehabilitation of employees injured at work and helps to replace lost wages while they are unable to work.

Property Insurance— Provides protection for your equipment and fixtures. You may be interested in options for spoilage coverage, to protect your perishables.  For our bakeries, we recommend insuring this at the ‘selling price’ instead of the default ‘your cost’. Or you may be more interested in business interruption coverage.  Not sure what you need? Call us!

General Liability Insurance — This coverage is a broad commercial insurance policy that covers the unintentional consequences of your work that result in bodily injury or property damage to a third party.  Your landlord will generally require this. For a restaurant, this might also include dram insurance or liquor liability.  It might also include Employment Practices Liability Insurance, designed to help protect your business from allegations ranging from unfair hiring practices to discrimination from your employees.   Do your employees run errands on behalf of the business in their vehicles? You may need non-owned auto liability.  If they use a business owned car, then you need Commercial Auto Insurance.
